Season Campaign Trailers
Series Teasers & Trailers
Promoting our series’ with teasers and trailers is so important, and I absolutely love making them. (Side note: One of the biggest reasons I got into video production was my love for movie trailers—I always thought it would be incredible to edit them.)
Trailers are crucial, not just for informing fans about upcoming content but for teasing them—building anticipation and showing just how exciting the show is going to be. The challenge is weaving narrative moments into a small amount of time. A great trailer isn’t just a highlight reel; it needs substance without giving everything away. The goal is to showcase as many locations and scenes as possible to make the show feel epic while using the most cinematic, visually stunning shots to emphasize the production quality.
The 2023 ‘Season Trailer’ was a high-energy hype video designed to kick off a monumental offseason for Panthers fans. With a new core of players and fresh faces throughout the organization, the goal was clear—build confidence, generate excitement, and encourage fans to rally behind the team.
Now.. I know what you might be thinking… and yes - the 2023 Panthers season didn’t go as planned (2-15!). But at the time, before a single game had been played, my job was to sell the vision, spark excitement, and, ultimately, help fill the stands.
Despite the season’s outcome, I had a blast creating this video. I envisioned a fast-paced, almost animalistic POV chase—something that felt like a predator locked in on its target. I found the perfect song, one that evoked a frantic, jungle-like intensity, and built the edit around that raw energy.
I wanted to combine that energy with a lot of movement and playing towards the camera. This is supposed to fun, raw, a bit silly, but mostly cool.
With dramatic Panther growls, immersive sound design, and just the right amount of VFX, this piece became a fun, playful, and undeniably cool way to set the tone for the season.
Make Waves was the Arizona Cardinals’ playoff campaign for the 2021 season—symbolizing the team’s push to disrupt the postseason while also playing off the fanbase’s nickname, The Red Sea, a nod to the sea of red jersey’s in the stands.
My former boss with the Cardinals, Tim DeLaney, wrote the campaign’s copy, and this was the final trailer that dropped on game day.
For the edit, I wanted to capture the raw, unfiltered emotion of Cardinals fans—feeling slighted, disrespected, and overlooked. Overall - my goal was to have fans feeling like the ‘😤' emoji after watching it.
With only a day or so to put it together, I stripped it down to its core: no flashy effects, no overproduction—just pure energy. I avoided slow motion footage, utilizing real speed shots cut quickly together, and leaned heavily on mic’d-up moments, using the players’ own voices to fuel the passion and fire that would carry over to the fans walking into that stadium..
Cardinals vs Cowboys Monday Night Football Trailer
Throughout the season, we had a running assignment of producing Game Trailers. Usually, I wasn’t the one editing them—my time was often dedicated to Cardinals Flight Plan or another long-form feature. But when I took on this one, I wanted to push it beyond the standard hype video packed with fast cuts and high-energy music. I wanted to write something—craft a concept that made this matchup feel personal.
The Cowboys and Cardinals have a long history, dating back to when they were in the same division. And while they’re no longer rivals in that sense, the bad blood has never really faded.
So, I decided to lean into that. I wrote a script with an old-school Western feel, asked our VO talent to deliver it in his best cowboy drawl, found the perfect vintage Western-style score, and incorporated some The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly-inspired editing—complete with a split-box sequence at the end. It was a fun challenge, and it turned a routine game trailer into something with a little more personality and storytelling
This is the initial ‘teaser’ trailer to introduce the Panthers Blueprint show
One of the favorite trailers I’ve ever made was the first Camp Confidential trailer in 2022. It was filled with lingering quotes designed to make the audience think, Wait… what was the context of that? and layered with dynamic visuals to show the depth of the series. One shot that stands out to me is Brian Burns banging on the table at :44—just enough of a behind the scenes moment that will get fans tuning in.
The first trailer for Panthers Blueprint ‘24 was a fun one—so many narratives to weave into a short runtime. Former Panthers star linebacker Dan Morgan stepping in as GM, a brand-new head coach, and a fresh coaching staff—all setting the stage for a new era.
One of the things I love about crafting these trailers for Panthers Blueprint, is how the theme song builds to a powerful crescendo. That build-up allows me to let certain sound bites linger, gradually increasing the tension until everything explodes at just the right moment. Finding the perfect sound bite to land when the music unleashes is always one of the most rewarding parts of the process.
Every trailer for every episode has its own unique balance to strike. Some episodes are practice-heavy, requiring the trailer to lean on Mic’d Up moments and sound design to maintain energy and flow. Others might be more interview- and feature-driven, packed with strong sound bites that help build the narrative.
I love the challenge of crafting these—telling just enough of the story to draw people in without giving too much away. It’s about creating intrigue, setting the tone, and making sure fans have to see what happens next. Below are more of my favorite trailers from the Panthers Blueprint and Panthers Camp Confidential series.
